Materials Research Society
The Materials Research Society (MRS) is an organization of materials researchers worldwide that promotes communication for the advancement of interdisciplinary materials research and technology to improve the quality of life.
The Materials Project
By computing properties of all known materials, the Materials Project aims to remove guesswork from materials design in a variety of applications. Experimental research can be targeted to the most promising compounds from computational data sets. Researchers will be able to data-mine scientific trends in materials properties. By providing materials researchers with the information they need to design better, the Materials Project aims to accelerate innovation in materials research.
TMS: The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society
The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS) is a professional society that connects minerals, metals, and materials scientists and engineers who work in industry, academia, and government positions around the world. We create networking, publication, and professional development opportunities by convening international conferences, publishing books and journals, administering awards, conducting short courses and training, and bringing together the professional community to address issues of common concern.
ASM International
ASM International is a Society of professionals who have come together to accomplish great works for the common good which cannot be achieved independently. The maximum value ASM can bring to its members and society can be achieved by working at the intersection of Design, Structural Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Materials.
South Asia Institute of Science and Engineering
The South Asia Institute of Science and Engineering (SAISE) is an academic association who registered in US, established a foothold in South Asia, and now opens up to the whole Asia. SAISE is dedicated to the promotion of international communication and cooperation among researchers and practitioners working in the science and engineering areas. We’re actively involved with a wide range of academic activities in the world.

We aim to co-organize international conferences with universities, scientific institutions, non-profit bodies, and offer conference services and technical support to academic conferences by making good use of the resource of a large number of members, such as introducing keynote speakers to right conferences, setting up international reviewer teams, finding suitable places for conferences, arrange academic visits and so on.

Materials Research to Meet 21st-Century Defense Needs (2003)
In order to achieve the revolutionary new defense capabilities offered by materials science and engineering, innovative management to reduce the risks associated with translating research results will be needed along with the R&D. While payoff is expected to be high from the promising areas of materials research, many of the benefits are likely to be evolutionary. Nevertheless, failure to invest in more speculative areas of research could lead to undesired technological surprises.
