The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Library at Wright-Patterson owns nearly 100,000 technical reports, including those from the Department of Defense, AGARD, NACA, NASA, CPIA and other government agencies, dealing with scientific, technological, military, and management topics. These are held in the main AFRL D'Azzo Research Library in the AFIT complex (Bldg. 642, Room 128) and the AFRL Library's Wright Research Site Special Collections Library in Bldg. 45, Rm. 45, open: Mon-Fri, 0900-1500 (formerly known as the Technical Reports Center, Library Secure Collection, or the Reports Vault).
Technical reports are delivered digitally, via Outlook email, or other DoD means. It may require anywhere from an hour to a day or more to fill a request depending on a report's readiness for digital use. Every effort will be made to deliver the requested report as quickly as possible.
Technical reports are restricted to various levels of access and may not be releasable to customers based on their access level. For example, "DoD Components only" reports cannot be released to DoD contractors. Each request will be filled on a case-by-case basis within the access restrictions noted on the document.
To request a report, please contact the Special Collections Librarian at AFRL.WSC.secure-room@us.af.mil or 937-938-4551. Please provide any relevant information or document ID numbers that you might have to help us deliver the report more efficiently.
We cannot provide technical reports to other libraries or to personnel not working at Wright-Patterson AFB. Outside customers should contact the Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC), or contact their local library about obtaining these or other documents.
